NSS Programme on “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat – YUVA Connect” at GRKCL

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Maria Goretti Simoes, Vice Principal, followed by the felicitation of the resource persons. Dr. Ajay Gaude highlighted the importance of discipline, resilience, and purposeful living in preventing substance abuse. Dr. Nitin Sawant spoke on the role of NSS in fostering responsible citizenship, self-discipline, and positive peer influence. PI Shri Razashad Shaikh created awareness about the dangers of anabolic steroids, performance-enhancing drugs, and unregulated supplements. PSI Shri Deendayal Redkar explained the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and educated students on the legal consequences of drug-related offences. A short awareness film on drug addiction was also screened. Ms. Rewa Rathore concluded the programme by motivating students to prioritise mental well-being, build healthy relationships, and make responsible life choices. The sessions were interactive and witnessed active participation from students and faculty.
