Master Class on “Decoding the Goa Agricultural Tenancy Act, 1964” at GRKCL

VVM’s G. R. Kare College of Law, Margao, organised a Master Class on “Decoding the Goa Agricultural Tenancy Act, 1964” on 8th August 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Ganesh Daivajna Auditorium on the GRKCL Campus. The programme was organised with the objective of supplementing classroom teaching with practical insights into the functioning and implementation of an important legislation governing agricultural tenancy in Goa.

The session was delivered by Mr. Shukr Usgaonkar, Joint Mamlatdar, Salcete, Goa. Drawing upon his professional experience in the administration of land and tenancy matters, the Resource Person explained the provisions of the Goa Agricultural Tenancy Act, 1964 in a practical and accessible manner. The session focused on the functioning of the statutory framework, the practical aspects involved in tenancy-related proceedings, and the role of the Mamlatdar in administering and adjudicating matters under the legislation.

The interaction provided students with an opportunity to understand how statutory provisions are applied in actual administrative and quasi-judicial situations. The practical perspective shared by the Resource Person helped students appreciate the complexities involved in land and tenancy matters and the importance of understanding both the legal provisions and the procedures followed by the competent authorities.

The Master Class concluded with an interactive engagement between the Resource Person and the participants, during which students were able to seek clarifications and gain further insights into the practical dimensions of the legislation. The programme was well received and contributed meaningfully to the academic enrichment of the participants.
