International Day of Yoga Celebration

The Department of Sports & Physical Education of VVM’s G.R. Kare College of Law celebrated International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2024 at  GD Daivajna Auditorium with great enthusiasm and participation. The event was organized to promote the benefits of yoga among college students and staff members.

Chief Guest: Prof. Vishwanath Swar, Retd Principal of MES Higher Secondary, Vasco, served as the resource person, conducted an engaging session where he demonstrated various yoga skills and emphasized the importance of yoga in the daily lives of college students.

Dr. Maria Goretti Simoes, Officiating Principal of the College, welcomed the attendees and introduced Prof. Vishwanath Swar. Omkar Gaonkar, Instructor in Physical Education, delivered the vote of thanks to conclude the event, expressing gratitude to all participants and contributors.

The event was well-received by students and staff alike, fostering a deeper appreciation for yoga as a holistic practice for physical and mental well-being. The celebration of the International Day of Yoga at our college successfully highlighted the significance of yoga in maintaining a healthy lifestyle among the youth. It encouraged participants to incorporate yoga into their daily routines for overall well-being.  Manoj V. Hede,  College Director of Physical Education & Sports coordinated the programme.
