REPORT OF LATE BIRTH REGISTRATION OF THE VANARMARE TRIBE OF CODAR-CONXEM, NIRANKHAL VILLAGE, PONDA GOA.

The Child Rights Cell of the VVM’s Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law, Margao, Goa in association with the Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights partnered for assisting delayed birth registration of nomadic tribe named ‘Vanarmare’,  inhibitants of Codar-Conxem, Nirankhal village in Ponda-Goa.

Mr. Peter Borges, the Chairperson of the Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights had formally conductive meeting in advance on 29th March 2023 and briefed the volunteers about the background of the nomadic tribe and the various difficulties face by them as a result of their challenging conditions and oriented the volunteers about the requirements of the task of registration of birth scheduled on 3rd April 2023.

On the said day the incharge faculty, Ms. Sonali Naik, Assistant Professor, Mr. Harshad Bandodkar, Assistant Professor and Ms. Afshan Bi, Assistant Professor along with eight students of the BALLB and LLB Degree programme and  the Chairperson visited the area in the morning and assisted the registration of 92 members of the tribal community by carrying out assessment of documents required for late birth registration and finalization of the list.
