Course Outcomes are those statements that help describe what the student should be able to do after the completion of the course.
Cos which are offered by the Institution are stated and displayed on the Institutional website, which inturn is communicated through the course teachers.
Course Outcomes for B.A. LL.B Programme is as follows:
Semester I to Semester X B.A. LL.B Programme:
CO 1: General English – To provide a student with a platform to develop his confidence and to enhance his communication skills
CO2: Legal Research Methodology- to acquaint the student to understand the legal terms and concepts which are routinely used in the legal profession. To develop a sense of professionalism.
CO 3: Environmental Studies- to encourage the student to respect and nurture his environment .
CO 4: Political Science –to teach the student the basis of political scenario at the International, National and state level which facilitates his decision making in Democracy.
CO 5: Economics – to acquaint the student with the study of his economy.
CO 6: Contract Law-to initiate the process of getting involved in partnerships, contracts, and situations which may lead to its breach.
CO 7: Law of Tort- to enable the student to understand the difference between a civil and criminal wrong/tort and to seek appropriate relief.
CO 8: Constitutional law – to enable the student to understand the supreme law of the land.
CO 9: Law of Crimes- to understand the ingredients which make out a crime and the punishment therein
CO 10: Family Law- to acquaint the student about laws pertaining to marriage, divorce, property and position of women under the different personal laws in India and Goa.
CO 11: Property law and Easement- to enable a student to understand the various modes of transfer of property eg. Sale, mortgage, lease and the laws applicable for such transfers.
CO 12: Company Law- to encourage students to study the law pertaining to company.
CO 13: Environmental Law- to enable a student to acquaint himself about the various laws which governs our eco system
CO 14: History- as one of the oldest source of law, to enable a student to study the past/its history
CO 15: Legal Theory- theories and concepts which deal with the emergence of law eg. Judicial precedents, legislation etc.
CO 16: Labour Law- the various laws concerning the workmen, labour class vis a vis his employer
CO 17: Insurance/ Interpretation of statutes and Health Law- (optional course)-
- Insurance- law governing fire/life/marine insurance
- Interpretation – understanding the rules used by legislature eg. Golden rule, mischief rule
CO 18: Law of Evidence- study the law pertaining to collection and use of evidence both primary and secondary
CO 19: Administrative Law-to enable a student to study the relationship between the three wings of the government.

- Mechanism for communication: The syllabi for the courses is formulated by the senior faculty of both the Law colleges . These faculty are represented at the Board of Studies, which is an important authority for the purpose of determining the course for every programme and allocation of marks for each topic in the course. After its approval by the Academic council of Goa University it is then made available to the respective Institutions for the purpose of implementation.
- Preparation of reading material by the respective course faculty which is made available in soft form to the students.
- Uploading the data relating to the course on NESS is done by the faculty on a regular basis.
- Fedena which is a student friendly software is also updated on a regular basis.
- Website of the Institution which is an essential medium of communication is also updated on a regular and timely basis.
- Feedback of the students is also obtained and suggestions are made for improvement .
Credits:
- One theory course consists of 8 lectures of 50 minutes duration per week of a semester consisting of 16 weeks.
(ii) Practical courses are carried on consists of 50 minutes per course for one week for semesters IX and X in the B.A. LL.B five year programme and Semesters V and VI in the LL.B Degree programme
Course Outcomes are attained by all the students of the Institution at the end of the formal course. The method of calculating the attainment of Programme Outcome is not unique as the Institution caters to providing legal education and students are encouraged to take up the legal profession as a career . However, the institution has a well defined method of computing the attainment of Cos and the following are the broad outcomes that is expected from a student form this Programme.
PO 1: Application of Legal Knowledge- A student is in a better position to apply the knowledge of law and give solutions to legal problems.
PO 2: Etiquettes of legal profession- through practical component like professional ethics where students are encouraged to follow certain values of the profession.
