Faculty Welfare Session on ‘Promoting Well-being: The Practice of Gratitude’
The session commenced with an introduction to the concept of gratitude and its significance in promoting psychological well-being. The participants were encouraged to reflect on the tendency to focus primarily on responsibilities, challenges and pending tasks, and were guided to consciously notice and appreciate the positive aspects of their personal and professional lives.A Personal Reflection Sheet was then administered to facilitate self-reflection and personal discovery. Participants were given quiet time to reflect on their strengths, achievements, supportive relationships, positive experiences and aspects of their lives that they value. Soft instrumental music was played during the activity to create a calm and reflective atmosphere. Following the reflection exercise, each participant was provided with an individual Gratitude Tree along with paper leaves. They were encouraged to write down people, experiences, strengths, small moments and other aspects of their lives for which they felt grateful and place them on their individual trees. This activity provided participants with an opportunity to visually represent and acknowledge the positive elements in their lives.
The session further included the creation of a collective Faculty Gratitude Tree. Participants contributed leaves expressing things they appreciated about the college and aspects of their role as faculty members. The activity encouraged participants to recognise and appreciate the positive experiences, relationships and sense of belonging associated with their workplace.

The programme concluded with a brief reflection where 2–3 participants voluntarily shared their experiences and insights from the activity, followed by a group photograph.
