Report on talk on “HIV/ Aids and Youth”
The Red Ribbon Club in association with the Medical Law Club of the College organized a talk on the topic “Empowering Youth : Navigating HIV Awareness and Prevention” on Friday, 04th October, 2024 at 11.15 am in the Smart Class.
Dr. Deepali Morajkar Mathew and Dr. Annet Oliviera addressed the RRC volunteers on various reasons that could lead to HIV – AIDS. They highlighted the fact that HIV is a silent killer and it is better to prevent the disease as there is no cure for it. Dr. Deepali Morajkar Mathew spoke about the causes and effects of HIV-Aids. She gave the basic facts about HIV/ AIDS. Dr. Annet Oliviera made a mention about the steps taken by the government to eradicate HIV/Aids. She spoke about the Chronic manageable disease and the precautions taken by the government to prevent the same.
The Talk concluded with an interactive session between the Resource persons and the students. Overall the session was beneficial and the students participated in the discussion without any hesitation.
