State level Seminar on ‘Understanding Intellectual Property Rights’

GVM’s Dr. Dada Vaidya College of Education, Farmagudi Ponda in association with its MOU partner VVM’s G.R. Kare College of Law, Margao, Goa organised a State level seminar on the topic ‘ Understanding Intellectual Property Rights’. The same was for the faculty and the students of GVM’s Dr. Dada Vaidya College of Education, and it was held on 5th April 2023 from 3:00pm onwards at its premises.. The welcome address was delivered by the Principal of Dr.Dada Vaidya College of Education, Dr. Jojen Matthew, which was followed by brief introduction by Dr. Deepa Varghese, Assistant professor and coordinator of the seminar. Thereafter the resource persons were introduced by the faculty member of the college.

There were four sessions and the resource persons were from G.R. Kare College of Law. Dr. Saba Da Silva, Professor and Principal, spoke on the topic, ‘Plagiarism as Copyright Infringement’, Asst. Prof. Sreeharsha Inavalli spoke on the topic, ‘IPR: International: Perspective, Asst. Prof. Merville Rodrigues spoke on the topic, ‘Overview of IPR, Indian perspective(Designs & Geographical Indications) and Asst. Prof. Priyanka Parab spoke on the topic, ‘Overview of IPR, Indian perspective(Patent, Trademark & Copyrights). The seminar concluded with a question answer session, wherein the questions of the audience were answered at length, which was followed by vote of thanks proposed by the faculty member of Dr. Dada Vaidya College of Education, Farmagudi Ponda. The seminar was coordinated by the MOU incharge and Asst. Prof. Akanksha Ghelaut from G.R. Kare College of Law.
