MASTER CLASS “AN OVERVIEW OF GST ACT , 2017”
The Taxation Cell of Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law, Margao Goa in association with Professional Development and Augmentation Cell of the College organised a Master Class on the topic “An Over view of GST, Act 2017 on 4th of November, 2020 at 4 pm.
The resource person for the master class was Dr. (CA) Subrahmanya Bhat, Principal of Swami Vivekanand College of Commerce, Bori, Ponda Goa.
Ms. Sonia Shirodker, Assistant professor and in charge of Taxation cell gave the welcome address and moderated the entire session.
The resource person provided knowledge on various topics covered under the GST Act, 2017 like the concept of GST, different type of taxes, need for GST, Salient features of the act, implications of GST on dealers , amendments in the area etc. . The resource person also provided excellent information on the revised GST rates and its benefits. The resource person also briefly touched upon the administration of GST and challenges in future.
The session had a very good response from students of B.A.LL.B and LL.B. Degree Program and the master class was attended by around 75 participants including faculty members of the college.
The session ended at 5.15 pm followed by a brief question and answer session. Ms. Ruchira Naik, Assistant professor and also a member of taxation cell proposed the vote of thanks.
